prieto.victor
Hi, everybody. I use a rendering program (keyshot) with which I obtain images, usually in tiff format with alpha channel. If I open these files in affinity photo, the gradients of the shadows are not of good quality (with other software this does not happen. See image) Does anyone know how to fix it? Thank you
Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2020 Hi prieto.victor Could you please open Affinity Photo>Preferences>Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here? Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2020 Thanks for that, I wanted to check your 'dither gradients' setting to see if this was set to off. I'm going to require a copy of the TIFF file so I can look into this further, could you please upload this to the following link for me? https://www.dropbox.com/request/BgUa8ytNGUYIGd8AfEyb Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2020 Many thanks for your file I can confirm I'm seeing the same issue in the latest beta and I'm currently uncertain for the reason of this, as the file certainly does appear differently in other apps, including Windows Image Viewer which is notoriously unmanaged. I'll log this as a bug with our development team for further investigation, many thanks for your report! Joachim_L
The information for the shadow is there, but invisible on a white background. So I won't call this matter fixed. Staff MEB Posted February 18, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 18, 2020 The fix was for Affinity Photo Beta 1.8.0.165 which is the Mac version. These changes were not propagated to the current Windows Beta build yet. The following is a screenshot from this version - Joachim_L 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
