msilver
Hi there, I have different files, * .EPS & * .AI. If I insert this into Designer, I can also see in the layers that it is there, but unfortunately without color. How do I get the logos in color? Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2020 Hi msilver 1 hour ago, msilver said: I can also see in the layers that it is there, but unfortunately without color. How do I get the logos in color? It sounds as though your file is opening in a greyscale colour profile - could you please provide a copy of this file so I can look into this further for you? Thanks in advance! msilver 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Staff Dan C Posted February 14, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2020 Thanks for your file! As I suspected this file is being opened in a Greyscale profile, please follow the below GIF showing how you can change the colour space of the document - However I've opened your file in both 1.7 & 1.8 and in both the file appears as an empty layer - regardless of the colour space. It's likely this .Ai file doesn't have an embedded PDF stream, meaning Affinity apps cannot read the data - my apologies. msilver 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. msilver
OK thanks! i created the file with adobe fireworks (all my logos) I can also build everything in affinity. is there a good tutorial here? in the appendix another * .ai file from vectormagic, which also doesn't work for me in affinity. edit: the *eps file from vectormagic works fine. the ai file not. Although we don't have any specific tutorials for this, you can find our Designer tutorials at the following link, alongside our help file - https://affinity.serif.com/tutorials/designer/desktop/https://affinity.help/ 30 minutes ago, msilver said: in the appendix another * .ai file from vectormagic, which also doesn't work for me in affinity. edit: the *eps file from vectormagic works fine. the ai file not. Again, it's likely the .Ai file does not have a PDF stream embedded (I believe it's only possible to save this type of .Ai file from Illustrator) and without this 'PDF stream' Affinity will be unable to read the document, as .Ai is a proprietary format that Adobe keep 'locked down'. In adobe fireworks I can not only export as * .ai, no, it is also possible to use * .psd. this is how the vectors can be read into affinity designer.
