Staff stokerg Posted February 13, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 13, 2020 Hi Mohanraj Reddy and Welcome to the Forums, Would you like some help getting the problem resolved or would you rather the refund? If you'd rather get some help then please read on. Its sounds like the app is already running, otherwise you wouldn't need to force quit it. At any point before it 'stops working', have you used the Red dot in the top left corner to 'close' the app?

That is probably why you have not yet discovered that if you close workspace window using the red 'traffic light' icon as @stokerg guessed, that does not quit AD (or any other Affinity app). That makes it unnecessary to force quit it to open an existing document or create a new one. You can do that in several ways. One is to right-click on a file in Finder & use the "Open with..." contextual menu item to open any file type Affinity supports -- there are quite a few of them. Another is if you have opted to add the AD icon to the Dock, you can click on it, which makes it frontmost & gives you access to its File & other menus in the Mac menubar. You can then use the File menu to open existing files (including recently opened ones via the File > Open Recent menu item) or create a new document, which will automatically reopen the workspace window. Likewise, you can do the same thing to make AD & its menubar frontmost using Launchpad if you use that app, or by double-clicking on its icon in the Applications folder. You can also avoid having to do any of this by not closing its workspace window to begin with. If it is in the way, you can simply hide it -- using the CMD+H keyboard shortcut when it is frontmost makes this very quick & easy to do. It is also perhaps worth mentioning that the Affinity apps are not the only Mac apps that do not quit when their workspace window is closed, so you should be aware of this even if you decide you do not want to keep AD.
