Grubs
Hi, I have purchased a couple of old, 3.5"x 4.5", black and white post cards which I want to fix and print larger pictures from. Has anyone any experience or ideas on how I can reduce the amount of grainyness in the original picture so that it isn't as noticeable when enlarged? I have done a 1200dpi scan of the image to a Jpeg file. Thanks
Dan C
Hi Grubs, Welcome to the forums It sounds as though you're looking for Noise Reduction, you can see this is action in the tutorial below - https://affinity.serif.com/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/333760397 If this doesn't quite resolve the 'grainyness', could you please provide a sample of your scanned image? Thanks in advance!
Grubs
Hi Dan, Thanks for your reply. I had tried using the Noise reduction technique but was trying to apply it as a live filter in the Photo Persona which wasn't working. Done it now in the Develop Persona directly on the image and it works. I did try to upload the file for interest, but without success, Got and error triangle and -200 if that means anything Thanks again for your help. Dan C
Glad to hear it, no problem at all! 5 hours ago, Grubs said: I did try to upload the file for interest, but without success, Got and error triangle and -200 if that means anything That usually indicates the physical pixel size of the file is too large, I believe the limit for users is around 3000px x 3000px - but if you have resolved this issue then there's no need to post it here
