iamCayleo
Hey guys. I'm very much a newb to graphic design and just downloaded the free trial of AD. So far I'm absolutely loving it. Definitely considering buying it. I'm having one major problem though. I previously worked in Pixelmator and had some color palettes that I had planned out for my website. Tried putting the hexcodes from Pixelmator into Affinity and they come out totally different. I experimented a lot with the color profiles, but it didn't help any. Currently have both Pixelmator and Affinity set to sRGB. For context, the colors I had in Pixelmator are darker and more muted. The same hexcodes in Affinity come out much brighter and more vibrant. Anyone else run into these problems? If I just start over and design my color schemes from scratch in Affinity Designer, how do I know I can trust that the colors will translate well to web or other mediums? Would really appreciate help as I'm new to this. thank you. :)
Dan C
Hi iamCayleo, Welcome to the forums Could you please provide screenshots showing your Affinity Designer document, your Pixelmator document and the Hexcodes you're comparing between the apps? Do you have a custom monitor (ICC) profile set in your OS? Affinity apps handle colour differently from other creative applications and a monitor colour profile is the usual cause for this.
