In this user interface, I noticed that they use quite nice dithering. It looks really sharp and nice, but I can't recreate it inside Affinity Designer. Here's an example: The above shape is made in AD. The bottom shape comes from the user interface reference I am using. They use blue and red to smooth out the shape, which gives a really nice effect when viewed at normal zoom levels. Is there any way to get this type of dithering inside Affinity Designer? But you would have to experiment a lot with their settings. GarryP Posted February 10, 2020 Share Posted February 10, 2020 Attached (image and file) is the nearest I have been able to get with some limited experimentation. It uses duplicate layers – each moved half a pixel left/right – with Colour Overlay Effects with an Average Blend Mode and 0% Fill Opacity. Quite a hassle if you need to do this many times and probably not a great way of doing it anyway. Zooming to Pixel Size and switching the duplicate layers on/off doesn’t seem to make much difference to me. The image you gave from your reference UI looks like how the fonts of the Affinity UI look when in Dark Mode. Try grabbing a Colour Picker and moving it over the names of the menu items and panel title bars.
