DDS file Export Request for PC

Recommended Posts

DDS file Export Request for PC.

May I suggest you add export to DDS file - DirectDraw Surface (DDS), to your program.

Many People use this type of file in gaming to place textures on models / objects.

If this is already in the program please let me know and where it is located to export.

Thank You.

So I see this subject of asking for a DDS file export has been around for atleast 4 years.

Does anything suggested, get placed in the program ?

From what I see of waiting 4 years minumum to have something that has been suggested, placed in the program, I may as well keep using GIMP.

Hi @Angus Kennedy,

this happens constantly. E.g. just recently a template feature was introduced to the currrent beta versions (it was on Mac in the test loop for a little longer but showed up on Windows just this week). Just one of many threads on this topic. Same for improvement of 'Expand Stroke'. This is a feature discussed over years and now they have made big improvements ... they are ironing out some last bugs.

Another thing that comes to mind is export to TGA format. It was asked over and over again and the developers did listen and implemented it.
Interesting thing in the last post by Andy Somerfield is that they found valid arguments in the postings in the forum that made them to decide to implement TGA support. They do listen to the people around here!

Since you are new to the forum I just wanted to point you to these few of many examples that are proof to the fact that Serif is monitoring these forums.

Cheers,
d.

Just add - the "age" of the request has no relevance to its implementation. Either Serif acknowledges that the requirement is really important and necessary, and fits in with their concept, then gives him a higher priority and reserves him with development capacities (which are relatively limited due to the size of the company).
