Split the App Forums, PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to have OS forums
only but in case you hadn’t noticed, and I think you have by now...

You folks have multiple applications for multiple platforms!

Which is to say these forums need their OWN dedicated channels.

Like so.

Affinity Designer for iPad
Affinity Designer for Mac/Win
Affinity Photo for iPad
Affinity Photo for Mac/Win
Affinity Publisher for Windows
Affinity Publisher for Mac
and so on...

Otherwise this stuff is going to get incredibly confusing going forward...WAIT...IT’S ALREADY THAT!

Thanks.

Many people have suggested that, @Miles Xx.

The usual argument against it is that many functions and topics are common among Designer, Photo, and Publisher.

For example, all have a subset of Tools in common, and they work identically across all 3 applications.

So, if you have a question about how one of those common tools works in Photo, an answer about Designer is usually applicable.

There are, of course, unique aspects of each application, but usually if you're browsing or searching a topic title will give you enough of a hint to tell whether it's of interest.

The current arrangement seems appropriate to me.

We have "feedback" (feature request) sections for each individual app, divided into desktop vs. iPad versions, and there are independent bug report sections for each app on each platform.  There are also sections for "feedback" on the entire suite of products, for those things they have in common.

Not sure what the complaint is here?

Have you looked here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/ ?

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

And of course, if there are areas in the forums you really don’t want to see content from you can always set up your own custom ‘Activity Streams’ to filter those things out.

macOS 10.15.7  15" Macbook Pro, 2017  |  4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU  |  Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB  |  16GB RAM  |  Wacom Intuos4 M
