I am in the process of editing a document in Affinity Publisher (Windows desktop, version 1.7.3.481), where I have set up several text styles. When I positioned the cursor before the first heading and pressed Enter to insert a new line above, I found that text is not being input into the text frame when I type. At this point the cursor disappears; saving the document doesn't work. Even saving a copy via 'Save as...' refuses to actually create the new file. Upon closing & reopening Publisher, loading the previously-saved version of the file prompts whether to use the auto-recovery version. If I click Yes, the document loads in the same state as before, but with the same issue preventing me from editing text and saving. Clicking No loads the prior state, though attempting to save brings up a 'saving' dialog that has no progress bar and causes Publisher to hang completely.

Is this a bug in Publisher itself, or has my afpub file become corrupt?

Thanks. This seems to be Text styles related. If you select all the text and Reset Formatting, it works fine. Anyways, i logged it with our developers.

I have the same problem. I cannot input the cursor into the text field to select the text. The pages before and after it work fine. There is no additional text frames on the master. I get this problem several times and have to delete the page to correct it. The problem is on page 53. The page starts with the title "The Bandit Lord of Tulskya Keep."

Hi @adrian arduini and welcome to the forums,

You have an additional unneeded text frame sitting on top of your Right Hand Facing Page text frame on Page 53... If you delete this as shown below you should be good to go...
