petemcarthur Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I’m sorry if this is a FAQ but every time I try to open a S1R raw file all I see is best described as digital noise. All is ok in Apple Photos and I even downloaded a trial of photoshop elements (sorry) and that opens correctly. Tried both Apple core raw and Serif, same result. I’m probably doing something stupid but I can figure this one out. I’m on the latest version of Catilina Quote
firstdefence Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 It appears your camera isn't on the serif supported list yet: Adobe DNG Converter can convert them to a DNG file. petemcarthur Posted February 4, 2020 Author Posted February 4, 2020 I was rather hoping that the Apple core raw would have handled them as it works for Apple Photos and others, doesn’t seem to be the case☹️ Quote
petemcarthur Posted February 4, 2020 Author Posted February 4, 2020 Ok I seem to be going. mad, I’ve changed nothing and now it seems to be working??? Quote

firstdefence Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I have a few rw2 files and they open like this regardless of the raw processor. I am on High Sierra 10.13.6 though. I can also confirm Rawtherapee 5.7.0 doesn't support the RW2 files. petemcarthur Posted February 4, 2020 Author Posted February 4, 2020 I think I figured out what is going on. I switched the raw processing engine in the assistant (several times) and in my innocence expected the changes to be instant, they’re not , you have to quit Affinity and restart. With the Apple core engine it seems fine now. firstdefence 1 Quote
