Resolving a self intersecting vector

Recommended Posts

To get into the swing of using Affinity I had a go at redrawing this beautiful ampersand.

My issue, is that I can't work out how to resolve the void shown in my attachment where the vector shape overlaps upon itself.

While illustrator doesnt draw self intersecting vectors in this way, to solve this in illustrator:
— I'd use pathfinder to merge the ampersand into a single shape

Result: I'd end up with an expanded vector shape without the void.

I can't seem to find a similar process in affinity to resolve the vector in an accurate way.

Any ideas?

WolfC4ke,

Is that graphic taken from a specific Font?

If you actually drew that it is absolutely beautiful and every node is exactly in the right place. Great work.

This is exactly how a font designer would have drawn it.
