JoeDoe Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I see that 1.7 is supporting more GPU options, but the information appears to be mainly for Mac. Do you have any information on what graphics cards or standards would be supported on Windows - I'm considering upgrading my graphics card to a P400 with Cuda, but I'm not sure which cards/gpu standards are supported by Affinity (e.g. Cuda, OpenCl). My existing old graphics card (Radeon HD5830) is correctly recognised by Affinity, but does not seem to show any activity on the GPU when using, although it's using all threads on the CPU when opening a RAW file. Anyway, any steer on which GPU card types are effective or favored would help, or any compatibility lists. Quote
Dan C Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Hi JoeDoe, Welcome to the forums Currently we don't support Hardware Acceleration for Windows - although this is something we hope to add in a future update. In the meantime, a P400 will be compatible with Affinity, should you wish to upgrade, but if you're looking for an immediate performance boost in Affinity then I would recommend focusing on the CPU/RAM first. I hope this helps! Quote
JoeDoe Posted February 2, 2020 Author Posted February 2, 2020 Thanks a lot for your helpful reply Dan. It's not a problem in terms of performance in that I have a dual Xeon main rig which is being exercised by the multi-threading pretty well. It might be helpful on some laptops especially to have the use of graphics cores though. Dan C 1 Quote
