Missing text layer from .pdf and .ai files

Hi, 

I have a problem with misssing text from adobe pdf and illustrator file. Text layers just didnt appear when i try open it in affinity (designer or photo). How can I reppair this file, since every pdf program can easily open with all of it text. '

Can you attach the PDF/AI file shown in the screenshot?

Also do you have the Fonts used in the PDF installed on your computer?

I attached the pdf file, the .ai file is big and it will upload too long. But the problem in both files is the same.

Yes, I have all the fonts (in fact, later in the file affinity uses the same font correctly).

I think this is going to be font related.  If you see the attached screenshot, Affinity is picking up some of the text as being in a font called: Source Sans Variable 

It does appear there is a variable font called Source Sans Variable HOWEVER as we don't support Variable Fonts at the moment, i suspect this is why the text is removed.  If you have access to the AI file, you should be able to edit the Text and change it to a non-variable Font, re-save as PDF and that will open fine in Designer.

A particular font has to be installed for it to work.. I found the font on 1001 free fonts website;
Sans Variable Roman

>Click on the Download link. 
>Save As.
>Goto the directory the font was downloaded.
>Right-click on the font.
>Select "Install for all users".

The font that you link below, is Syne Font, not SourceSans. And i have got Source Sans, just Illustrator transform it to Source Sans Variable.
