NoLongerHere Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 I used the same setting but with a more simple gradient and it was fine but I think I broke it this way, don't think it's me. The main stripes gradient is in the fill, not the fx (that's used just to fill the bottom). The first image is with the inner shadow and outline turned off and gradient looks ok. Is with inner shadow turned on, which breaks it Is with outline turned on and breaks it in a different way Both turned on and it looks like the outline image I've attached the file. engrave.afdesign Quote
Gear maker Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Looks like the problem is caused by this handle (the one showing black in the image) in the gradient that is used to make the bars in the letters. Try deleting it and then recreating it. Not sure what is actually wrong with it but it seems to be the key. Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
NoLongerHere Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 Further to this, I converted the text to outline and set the gradient to 45 degrees. The "problem" goes over the top of the fx gradient, normally the standard gradient would be below it. Quote
Gear maker Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 I noticed that also. That one handle is causing the problem. Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra

I was going through the stops and I know what it is now but not sure why it would mess things up so much. Somehow one stop had a 99% opacity, which shouldn't really make any noticeable difference but broke everything. Quote
Gear maker Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Glad that took care of it. Sometimes it's strange what can actually cause an issue. Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
NoLongerHere Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 It is. They might still want to see why it happened as setting an opacity on a gradient stop shouldn't really do that. But if it happens again I know what to check! Quote
Staff Sean P Posted January 27, 2020 Staff Posted January 27, 2020 Hi VectorVonDoom, Thanks for letting us know and also for the sample file - I'll get this passed on to development. Quote
