blurry edges using matte refine edge?

Recommended Posts

hi there,

not used any other filters , just a photo imported into affinity, made a quick selection using the brush then used the matte brushes around the edges like it said in the tutorial on site. never changed any settings. it looks great on the preview then when i select apply it goes all blurry like the attached image

Unfortunately i had to go back into photoshop to complete this

Hi Macca, glad you got your refund. TBH in my experience I've achieved great results. Like MEB mentioned without seeing the file its hard to say whats going on, I would of uploaded for the guys to take a look rather than just a screenshot as that wont necessary identify the issue.

These two shots show you can get awesome results.

Hi,

Has this problem been solved?

I have the same problem.

I make a selection with Selection Brush tool.

Refine edge - standard settings (although I have tried different setting), use brush to select hair etc. Everything looks fine, just like Photoshop.

Output to new layer with mask.

The area I used the refine edge brush are blurry, and if I use a white bush to paint away the mask the image i pixelated.
