Organising into projects

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My documents were becoming cluttered so I tried to make new projects and drag the documents onto (and therefore into) those projects. Instead of going into the projects, they have the Ø in the top right and then disappear. Where have they gone?

sorry if this is a simple ui question but I couldn’t find this anywhere in the help documents/videos.

thanks

This certainly sounds like the correct workflow to organise your documents into projects, I have just tried this in Affinity Photo and each document was successfully moved into the project.

Could you please go to Settings(Cog icon in the top right of the homescreen)>General and enable Show Touches. Then return to the homescreen and create a screen recording showing you moving projects, then upload this recording to your reply.

If you're unsure how to record your iPad screen, you can find out how here - https://support.apple.com/HT207935

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Dan,

thanks, I’ve just tried it again and it works like you said. My project was at the bottom of my grid and I’ve noticed that what I was doing was dragging the document to the bottom half of project and then letting go and it disappearing. I’ve noticed that this is because I’m dragging it into the section which contains ‘tutorials’ and ‘samples’.

do you know what documents go when they are dragged into this section?

thanks!

The document will return to its original location, as it cannot be moved here (hence the Ø icon). I hope this helps!

Keep in mind that these 'Project' files are stored in affinity's iPad sandbox, and not accessible any other way. They are not saved files.  A simple glitch while using one of these files can render your file inaccessible. Much safer to save outside of affinity where you can organise in folders, access, copy, move, backup your project files.
