Hi, I am an illustrator and new on this forum.
After working with the Adobe CS 5 suite for a long time, I switched to the Affinity applications. I just started with publisher.
Something I am strugling with is changing the frame of an image.
In InDesign I could add a point to the frame with the pen and then move it with the white arrow to change the shape of the frame.
In A. Publisher there is no white arrow. According tutorials it has to be done with the node tool, but when I use this and click on the border of an image frame, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to the forums.
To allow the Node Tool to work on a Picture Frame, press the “Convert To Curves” button on the Context Toolbar for the Node Tool (see attached GIF).

I selected the node tool, but can't find the pop up menu for the 'convert to curves'.

"Convert to curves" should be on the Context Toolbar, either by clicking the symbol at its right edge if the workspace window is not wide enough to show all the context toolbar items (like in Garry's GIF), or inline with the items to its left if it is wide enough to show them all.

If you do not see this, first make sure you have selected the Picture Frame layer in the Layers panel, & if you still don't see it that the Context Toolbar itself is shown. If it is not, tick the View menu "Show Context Toolbar" item.

If your Node Tool Context Toolbar looks like that then the thing you have selected should already be converted to curves.
You should be able to move the nodes and reshape the shape using the normal Node Tool operations.
If you can’t, can you attach a video/GIF which includes your Layers Panel (preferably the whole screen)?
