Gwen Rodriguez
When applying a black mask to the Low Frequency Layer in Affinity Photo, the mask appears as a transparent layer. I have tried on both 1.7.2 and 1.7.3 with the same results. Any idea what the cause may be? Attached is a screenshot of the Affinity Photo window. Thanks! R C-R
At least on my Mac, updating these mask thumbnails sometimes doesn't occur immediately & I have to do something like switching to a different layer before they will. It is just a cosmetic issue but annoying none the less. smadell
You’ve split your image into a High Frequency and a Low Frequency layer. So far, so good. You’ve applied a black mask to the low frequency layer, which will make it completely transparent. This is as it should be. The reason that your screen shows complete transparency is that your high frequency layer is turned off. Click the checkbox next to the layer (in the Layers panel) and you should see the High Frequency layer instead of a blank screen. firstdefence 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2 (latest retail versions) - desktop & iPad Culling - FastRawViewer; Raw Developer - Capture One Pro; Asset Management - Photo Supreme Mac Studio with M2 Max (2023}; 64 GB RAM; macOS 13 (Ventura); Mac Studio Display - iPad Air 4th Gen; iPadOS
Gwen Rodriguez
All, Thank you for all of the suggestions; I tried but nothing worked. As a last resort, I reset the brushes using Ctrl Click to open the program. That resolved the issue! This is a great forum, I hope to be able to contribute soon! Thank you all again, G
