If you grab that double bar at the left edge of the studio panel tabs, and drag it, you should undock that entire part of the studio:

I use Windows, not Mac, so beyond that I'm not sure exactly what capabilties you have, as that's an area where the support is different for Mac and Windows users. You should be able to leave it free-floating, and then redock it later by dragging it back into position. Or you might be able to dock it on the left edge (though you might also need to use View > Studio and enable the Left Studio).

You could also, of course, scroll/pan the workspace to make the right portion of the work currently hidden by the studio visible, or zoom out.
