Revert to Released Version from 1.8.0 .502

Recommended Posts

Having experienced what seem to be random crashes I think it will be the safest thing for me to revert to using my release version 1.7.3.481.  Not surprising, but I cannot open beta files with 1.7.  What is the best way of going back?  Copy everything and paste into a new document? or is there some smart option?

That's why the beta download pages warn you that the betas are not ready for production, and should only be used for testing. There should be no need to "go back" for anyone who follows that advice.

Trying to copy/paste from the beta into the release version is all you can do, as far as I know. It may work, for most data, but I have never tried it.

Hi @Chris McKay,

I'm afraid there is no way of converting 1.7 files to 1.8. You even get a pop-up message warning you when you open a non-beta file in the beta.

If you did not make a copy on the pop-up dialogue, there's nothing we can do. You can try and copy-paste layers from one to another, or export as PDF and then re-import the pdf, but either way it's going to be a manual process.
