chloemanson
Hello! I wrote text over a transparent background to use as a watermark over photos. However, whenever I export the file as JPEG, the transparent background is white, essentially making the transparent background useless. Is there a way to truly get a transparent background? TIA! GarryP
Welcome to the forums. As far as I know, JPEG doesn’t support transparency. Probably better to export as PNG (or TIFF, perhaps) instead.
firstdefence
To follow on from Garry, JPEG uses the RGB colour space, PNG uses RGBA colour space where the 'A' denotes Alpha = Transparency or levels thereof. There are exceptions to the JPEG format in so much as JPEG2000 supports transparency, although Affinity apps cannot export to this format.
