Invert Selection acts strange when using resized artboards

I've found an issue when using the "Invert selection" menu option (cmd+shift+I). When in an artboard that has been expanded, the inverted area only includes the original dimensions of that artboard, not the expanded area

Steps to reproduce:

- Create a new document with an artboard
- Resize the artboard to be bigger than before
- Select a small part of the canvas in pixel mode with the marquee tool
- Invert Selection
- Some of the area outside the original selection is not selected

Isn't just Invert Selection, resize the artboard and then Select All. Only the original size artboard will be selected.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
