TOC includes needless entry (Publisher)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I stumbled upon this strange behaviour: My table of content includes one more number at the end than there are included headings. I made sure that there are no further headings later (in other hidden text boxes etc.).

Has someone an explanation for this?

Gratefully,

Simon

Can you attach the file so I can have a look at it and see whether I can offer any explanation.

I deleted it. It didn't work.

I am on Publisher Beta 531 but you can try this:

1 Update the table of contents

2. Disable Numbered List from the top bar.

Let me know whether it works for you.

No, that is not the issue (exactly). But I managed to pinpoint it: When I iclude a TOC, it doesn't import the numbers from the list of the headings. So I had to make a new numbered list for all the TOC paragraph styles. That style is also applied to the last paragraph in the TOC. I don't know why Publisher adds an empty paragraph at the end of the TOC in the first place.

Is there a possibility to extend the scope of the TOC also to the numbers before each heading?

I didn't want to complicate the matters in my earlier post (I noticed it as well) but there seems to be a problem with this in Publisher.

I would advise you to report this strange behaviour in the Affinity Publisher Bugs section.
