R C-R
When I click OK in the 'Add Pages from File...' dialog after selecting a file, the app hangs on the next "Add Pages from File" window with the options: It does not seem to matter what kind of file I am trying to add pages from, although I have only tested with .afpub, .afphoto, & afdesign ones. As with other APUB beta hangs ("application not responding" messages), with this one it takes several minutes for Force Quit to actally quit the app, during which time this window is superimposed over everything else on the screen & can't be closed, just moved. Staff Jon P Posted January 16, 2020 Staff Share Posted January 16, 2020 Yeah this just seems to have regressed on Mac only, seems fine on Windows. Thanks for the report, I've logged it. R C-R 1 Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
garrettm30
And I wonder why the text of the radio options is black with the dark interface in that screenshot. I tried to go to the same screen, but it is displayed correctly on mine… until the app crashed. In my case, the app was stuck for only a few seconds and then "quit unexpectedly" with an error report (attached). crash - add pages from file.txt

Just guessing but that might have something to do with the OS version I am using (10.13.6) and/or the System Preferences > Accessibility > Display options I use: I have not (yet) tested for this, & probably will not because of the long hang times I get when trying to force quit the beta -- I sometimes get a "quit unexpectedly" notice if I wait long enough, but typically that takes at least a minute to happen, & usually considerably longer. I may also need to either log out & back into my user account, or restart the Mac, or at least reset some stuff via the CTRL launch of the beta, but before I do any of that I want to check out a few of the other new features & fixes. garrettm30
Maybe the length of time the app hangs before quitting unexpectedly has to do with some particular complexity of the document you are trying to import from.

Maybe, but now I can't even launch the beta -- I get an "App not responding" notice in the Dock & not even the splash screen appears. I think I need to restart my Mac because something isn't right. nwhit
Just tried the Add Pages From File and once the dialog opened and I tried to click on anything, the app crashed. R C-R
FWIW, this is not fixed in the new 535 beta, & it still takes about 1 minute for force quit to actually remove the beta's windows from my iMac's screen, which interferes with anything else I am trying to do. I am an idiot! The issue I meant to mention is the hang when I try to add a spacer (currently with a tooltip of "null (x)" whatever that is supposed to mean), not this one. I haven't yet tested anything other than that so please ignore this misplaced post. Staff Jon P Posted January 22, 2020 Staff Share Posted January 22, 2020 @R C-R If you create a new document and add pages from that does it still crash? I just double checked with some test files and this seems fixed for me. If you find it's related to one specific file can you attach it?
