VanHeber
Hi, I like to understand why Publisher produces files with large sizes? I'm using linked files all time, but, for example, I have a file that is a simple folder that have 1GB of size! What? Can you help me? The file is attached here without linked files. folderGeral45x21-2dobras.afpub
Joachim_L
Any editable file - where the Edit Document button pops up - like PSD, .afdesign, .afphoto, PDF etc. makes the file (much) bigger, even when linked. I hope this is going to get improved in the future. In the meantime: Try to replace the images with TIFF and Save As. This should make your file size smaller. walt.farrell
It's because, until version 1.8, linked document files (.afphoto, .afdesign, .afpub, .pdf, .svg, .eps, ...) behave differently from linked image files (.jpg, .tiff, .png). For document files, even when linked, a complete copy of the file is also embedded in the Publisher document. In the 1.8 beta versions that are available for testing now this seems to have changed, and linked files of any type are truly linked. aleale1 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
VanHeber
Thanks Farrel! It's true! An embedded copy is record with the Publisher Document. Hope that 1.8 solve this, because it's not make any sense! Regards!
