Join two nodes???

Recommended Posts

I have not found a straight answer to this question.

I have two lines (unclosed, just a simple line) that run parallel to each-other. These lines have one overlapping node occupying the same space.

I can not figure out how to merge/join the two nodes to create a new, single line, path.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi mhulse :)

You can achieve this using the Node Tool, I've attached a quick screen recording showing this below -

I hope this helps!

Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.

A screen shot might help explain your question. Two ‘parallel' lines cannot have 'overlapping' nodes, as they never meet?

Note to OP. You can only join 'end' nodes.

If the paths are joined in the wrong direction, use “reverse” (node tool) on one of the two lines first (that switches beginning and end of the line) and then select the two nodes of the two lines that you want to join and press “join”.
