Kamylle Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 When I used the color picker today I go a popup asking for permission to record my screen. I refused the permission since I didn't understand what it was for. But no I understand that it was needed to be able to pick colors outside the app and I wish to change the permission and I can't find how to do it. It's for Affinity Designer on mac. Quote
GarryP Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Welcome to the forums. As far as I know, the permission Designer needs, in this case, is only to be able to ‘see’ the screen to be able to get the colour under the mouse pointer and, as such, you should be safe in allowing it. I haven’t use a Mac for a while but this article might be of some help: https://www.wikihow.com/Change-Application-Permissions-on-a-Mac Quote
Dan C Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Hi Kamylle, Welcome to the forums This permission is set through Mac OS, meaning you'll need to change the setting outside of the Affinity app. Please open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the Privacy tab. Click on the lock to make changes (you may need to enter your Mac password here), then tick Affinity Designer in the list of apps here. Now you can press the Lock icon again to save changes, restart Affinity Designer & you should find the colour picker is now working as expected! Bunston 1 Quote
Kamylle Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 It worked great, yay! (Little precision in case someone needs it too. Under the privacy tab, select Screen Recording, then tick affinity designer.) Thanks Dan & Gary! Dan C 1 Quote
