Hi

I'm creating a new paragraph style and would like it to have the following characteristics:

A Background colour
Must be full width of the page (therefore the backgroound colour will appear across the width of the page for the paragraph)
Must have some internal padding, equally around all 4 edges.

Can this be achieved?  I'm not having much luck so far.

Kind Regards
Musaffar

You have to use the Decorations section and use fill with a large negative offset. There is a problem with using a paragraph style for this in that depending on the placement of the text on the page your offsets may not cover the width. If the text is in the same location for all instances then there is no problem.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi

Thanks, that was quite helpful.  I was able to set the background across the width of the page for the paragraph.  How can I set internal padding around all edges?

That is in the Paragraph Style definition under Spacing.

Edit, or under Text Frame General > Insets. Can't believe I forgot that one.

Hi Bruce

Under Paragraph Style > Spacing, I only able to adjust the inset for left and right insets.  This is great, but I cannot do the same for top and bottom.

The settings in the text frame panel are disabled, nevertheless I would prefer to create a paragraph style if possible as I will be reusing the style quite often across this and other documents.

Excellent news Mussaffar. Glad you replied, I have been trying to figure out how it would not work for you.
