Metadata Studio "All" display mode in Dark UI unusable (1.8.0.163)

Recommended Posts

While in the Dark UI all the other display modes (Files, Summary, IPTC, etc.) have nice light colored text on a dark background, this is what I see for the All one:

I am running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 & using a few of the System Preferences > Accessibility options ("Differentiate without color" & "Increase contrast") enabled, but it does not seem to matter if any of those options are enabled or not.

Everything looks fine in the Light UI.

EDIT: The same thing happens in the Photo Persona of the 1.8.0.523 Affinity Publisher beta.

For some reason I don't see the All option in the Metadata panel, but in my situation (10.15 Catalina) at least it looks good.

Compared to the popup options shown below in my screenshot, do you see any other differences?

It looks like what for you is labeled "EXIF" is for me labeled "Summary."

I don't see the All either, maybe it is an iPhone vs Canon (my case) or Sony ( @RNKLN's case). No Summary either.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I see the 7 items pictured in my screenshot regardless of the source of the file. That includes samples I have downloaded from the web that have very little metadata other than some IPTC (Image) & Rights stuff & some that (apparently) have had most of the metadata removed before being uploaded -- & even newly created & unsaved AP documents that have no metadata at all.

But on a hunch I switched the beta's General preferences language setting from "English (United States)" to "English" (which is UK English) & I get the same 7 labels you show, so this mystery is solved -- it's just a localization issue that I assume will be fixed in the retail version.

EDIT: the too white issue is still there in the Dark UI; the only difference is US English labels this option as "All" while the UK English one labels it "Details."

Likewise the US one labels the second option "Summary" while the UK one labels it "EXIF."

Accidentally clicked "Save" before I meant to.

We do still have some localised strings to update, so @R C-R is correct that the wording is a little different for en-us for the time being. That'll eventually match the en-gb strings when things catch up. :)

I think the white background on the treeview is likely OS version-specific as we don't see it on Mojave or Catalina.

Thanks for the report!

Thanks for that info. :)

Just for completeness, have you tested this in either of those macOS versions with the equivalent of any of the High Sierra System Preferences > Accessibility > Display options enabled? I usually have that set up as below.
