pomme27 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Hi. This question pertains to Affinity Designer. When I do File > Export to create a JPEG file, I can choose a preset (Best, High, Medium, Low) for the export. But if I want, for example, to export at 72 dpi, I don't know which preset to select. Where can I find the meanings of the presets? Thank you. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 You don't set the DPI when exporting, @pomme27. You can only set dimensions. And the quality has nothing to do with the DPI, but rather controls how much the image is compressed and how much detail is lost. DPI is determined by the document resolution you have specified, which you can reset via Document > Resize Document. pomme27 Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Ah. That makes sense. Thanks. FYI I am exporting a book cover that will be used for an Amazon Kindle ebook. The Amazon Kindle specs say to create book covers at 72 dpi resolution. I am used to dpi for print work, but am less familiar with the concept as it pertains to online images. Quote
lucsteve Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 however, it would be very helpful to set the DPI when exportin, instead of having to resize the original document and then exporting it Quote
