Adjust control point density for Brush Tool?

Recommended Posts

I am on the hunt for the best vector freehand-sketching tool with a high degree of input precision.  I really want Affinity to be that for me, except I can't seem to find how to adjust the number of control points rendered for each stroke.

What currently happens is that, despite stabilizer turned off, my lines are being too "simplified."  For example, I do a lot of zigzag hatching in my work, which have very tight direction changes.  After I release and the stroke is created, those acute angles kind of "bubble out" because AD is simplifying/smoothing my stroke into fewer points than I would like.  Is there a way to change this, somehow?

Thanks.

Hi Orthopteroid,

Welcome to the forums :)

Unfortunately there's no way to currently disable Stroke Smoothing, this has been requested previously and is something we hope to add in a future update.

In the meantime, I'll move this thread to the Feedback section of our forums, I hope this helps!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
