Hi all

Firstly yes I know I should have been saving my work

But i'm so upset now - In Designer 1.7.3- I had 2 documents open (PSD) I had been making changes to 1 of the documents and had done some exports as JPG. Again I needed to EXPORT but I accidentally clicked, 'Edit in Photo' - this seemed to create an amalgamation of both documents, closing them both into 1 and then opened Photo. I didn't want that but then I have now lost my file. Where is the documents I was working on? Why did it do that?

Is there an auto save?

I have to start again now.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @zain.

When you click Edit in Photo, the active document (only the one, not both) would be closed and transfered to Photo. The other document would remain active in Designer. From Photo, to get the document back to Designer, you would use File > Edit in Designer.

Thanks @walt.farrell

Obviously I'm a noobie and did not know this so in a panic I closed Photo to get back to Designer, thus losing my document :(

However I had a jpg so managed to re-create it

I think the document should not be closed or the Edit in Photos should not be close to Export :)

All okay now I managed to redo it quite quickly

Thanks for the info, much appreciated

It must be closed to transfer it over.

And on Windows (not sure about Mac), Edit in Photo and Export are quite a ways away :)
