I can't seem to get uniformity when using 'Justify All'. I'm producing a newsletter and using double columns. In some areas when I use 'Justify All' to align left and right text there's no problem at all. In other areas where there is a last line consisting of just one or two words those words are spaced out to fill the entire width of the column. Even when I use the same 'Paragraph' settings as those used for the text that's fine I can't seem to get rid of the problem. In PagePlus I would just have highlighted the offending text and 'left justified' it and the problem would be solved, but that can't be done in Publisher.

I feel that I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what! Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi, yes, 'Justify Left' works fine and I could leave it at that but. I prefer to 'Justify All'. I just think it looks neater in the newsletter and now that I have this problem it will nag at me until I know the answer, even if the answer is that 'it can't be done' then at least I'll know.

I think you're actually using Align Left, rather than Justify Left.

In the Paragraph Tab, use Justify Left (not Align Left}.     – For some reason there are more options there than on the context toolbar.

Both Justify and Align are on the Context Toolbar:

You're quite right, Walt. I forgot the drop down arrow. I really should check this sort of thing, rather than relying on (my ageing) memory! :D

I think it might be worth pointing out that Justify Left is only in the Context Bar if that was the last option you chose from the drop-down, or if you haven’t changed this setting since the application was launched. If another alignment/justification type was the last option chosen then you can’t see it. A small point, but worth knowing I think. (It defaults back to Justify Left after relaunch.)

rongittings: That’s okay. I should have been more specific to make the difference between Align and Justify clearer. Glad you’re sorted.

True.

But you can see the justification option you used, and a pulldown icon which will get you the rest of them :)
