Publisher - rounded corners for a stroked text frame?

Newbie question: My InDesign CS5 has “corner effects” for a text box. Does Publisher have something like this?

Yes, indirectly. First draw a rectangle with corner effects and convert it into a text frame.

Just to add to what has already been said, there’s no quick way to give an existing text frame corners.
However, you can, if you also have Designer (doesn’t work in Publisher):
* cut all of the text out of the frame;
* convert the frame to curves (menu “Layer → Convert To Curves”);
* use the Corner Tool as necessary (no Corner Tool in Publisher);
* convert the shape back to a text frame (menu “Layer → Convert To Text Frame”);
* paste the text back into the frame.
It’s a bit long-winded but better than having to do everything again.

For many interesting and beneficial posts, I thought it would be useful, if the forum allowed to remember the post - pinning to the user's notice-board.

Unfortunately, it only lets you mark (follow) topics, not posts, as far as I can tell.

But you can use your browser to Bookmark posts, and either tag them or put them in folders (depending on your browser, and your choice) to help find them later. In Firefox, right-click on the "Share this post" icon, and choose "Bookmark This Link".

:-) Surely you will recognize that this is a very awkward and impractical procedure.

It should be a feature of the forum, when it remembers the user's entire history and its rating of posts. It might be enough to add another type of rating (star symbol) and then allow them to be searched/filtered.

Perhaps. But unless it is already a feature of the forum software which Serif has not enabled, it is out of their control. They are merely using commercially available software to run this forum.

And since I may have things I want to save about Affinity that come from the forums, or videos from YouTube, or posts on Facebook, keeping them organized in my browser bookmarks makes more sense, to me, than having a separate set in the forums, and a different set in my browser.

Edit: So, no, I do not see it as impractical and awkward.

Sure, everybody can solve it as they can and according to their needs - for example, have it transcribed on paper :-)

Just a note of your links - just a small reconstruction of the forum structure (such as moving to Older Feedback ...), and your saved links are completely useless.

And the advantage of rating/saving interesting forum posts? - could be a valuable source of information for other users.

I do not think that is quite correct. This forum software assigns unique topic and post numbers. A topic can be moved to a different location in the forum, but as long as the topic is not renamed or split, the links to its posts will continue to work.

Of course, if the topic is renamed the links will break, and the original poster of the topic, or a moderator, could do that. And moderators may split them.

So you're right that the links could break. But simply moving the topic should not do it.
