affinity designer Photorealism from vectors

This is a work in progress trying to create  Photorealism from vectors using Affinity Design. Unfortunately not having a mesh warp tool is proving difficult but we are getting there slowly

Nice illustration but what is it?

Hard to tell if it will be photorealistic but good luck. A Rowe racing something, perhaps a Porsche going by an image search???

Yes it is a Rowe Racing Team Porsche 911 GT3 . There is still a long way to go. So much detail in the head lamps alone. One thing I am going to struggle with is the carbon fiber panels that the stripes form over shapes like the mirrors. This would be easier if Designer has mesh warp.

I know, I hate headlamps but at least modern ones are lot easier to draw than the classic type which take me at least a week or two. You can do anything without meshes, it might take longer but you can do it. Always easier with a really high res reference image or images.

Got tired of the headlamp details so decided to do a bit of progress and started the roof and the rear wing

Nice progress. I'm often amazed about the realism that AD allows users to create, which wasn't possible to do in CorelDRAW and AI (which I've used professionally and privately for decades), in spite of the fact that AD is supposedly lacking some functions that the competition has. AD offers great work-arounds that are easily and quickly editable resulting in shorter production times.

It is certainly possible in both those apps if you know how to use them properly and, depending what you're doing and how you like to do it, can be easier. You might decide to go about it in a differently way than in AD but the results will be the same.

The headlight's getting there. I do the same, get fed up of working on one part and do something different for a while. It all gets done in the end.

It has been a while since I posted. I have finally got back to this project Some new areas and lots of details. Rather tedious doing carbon fibre weave, to curve individual lines one by one. It would be sooooo much easier if we could have a warp tool for the vector groups .......just saying

Moving Along slowly ! At least we are moving.

Further development carbon fibre is a pain in the a..
Got the wheel arch vents, hood latches, the lighting detraction from the light lenses done and a little more detail on the spoiler.

For a change I started the background. Still more to do on the car though. Mirrors and a bit of grime and highlights
