Raskolnikov
When dragging an image (for example) to Affinity, it's placed on a new canvas automatically... it's that what you mean?
Staff MEB Posted September 18, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 18, 2014 No, the OP wants that Affinity Designer automatically creates a new document and paste the contents of the clipboard there. bitsandnumbers
In Photoshop for instance, you also have the option to create a document with the size of the clipboard (when choosing a preset size in a new document popup). It would be really really nice to have that too ! Raskolnikov
dradept
This is exactly what I would like, I sometimes copy an area of an image and then need to create a document the exact size before pasting in that image. Photoshop and fireworks does this and it saves a huge amount of time. New from Clipboard creates the document with the precise dimensions of the clipboard. Another option would be to be able to trim the canvas to the size of whatever is within it. goldsphere
griff13
I need to copy a small selection from a larger picture and create a new document from the clipboard so that I can edit it and use it as a custom brush or whatever. I have to switch to iDraw now to do that.
Gear maker
griff13, in the recent versions of AD beta there is a menu selection New From Clipboard that should do what you want. Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
