ursusaquarius Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I started my registered previous version of Designer (1.7.1.404) and was asked to update. After downloading the new version I started the update which failed. Now I´m not even able to access or delete the directory where Designer was located and also cannot reinstall the previous version. On my PC I run Windows 10 Pro Version 1903 Quote

Dan C Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Hi ursusaquarius, Welcome to the forums I have merged your 2 separate posts as these install issues are likely related. In order for me to investigate this issue, I'm going to need a copy of your installer log file. Please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK: %temp%\AffinitySetup In the window that opens, please select the most recently created folder, then attach SetupUI.log to your reply here. Many thanks in advance! Quote
ursusaquarius Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Hi Dan, thx for quick reply. I proceeded according to your advice and attached the file as requested. Hope this helps. Best regards Reinhold Merkle SetupUI.log Quote
Dan C Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Thanks for your file, I can see this shows the following error: +Error: The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer. The installation cannot continue. We've seen this previously and restarting your machine should fix this. Please restart your PC, then right-click the downloaded .exe file and select Run as Administrator. Patrick Connor 1 Quote
