I started my registered previous version of Designer (1.7.1.404) and was asked to update.

After downloading the new version I started the update which failed.

Now I´m not even able to access or delete the directory where Designer was located and also cannot reinstall the previous version.

On my PC I run Windows 10 Pro Version 1903

Hi ursusaquarius,

Welcome to the forums :)

I have merged your 2 separate posts as these install issues are likely related. In order for me to investigate this issue, I'm going to need a copy of your installer log file.

Please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK:

%temp%\AffinitySetup

In the window that opens, please select the most recently created folder, then attach SetupUI.log to your reply here.
Many thanks in advance!

Thanks for your file, I can see this shows the following error:

+Error: The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Designer.  The installation cannot continue.

We've seen this previously and restarting your machine should fix this. Please restart your PC, then right-click the downloaded .exe file and select Run as Administrator
