amun Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I bought Photo a while ago and recently added Publisher and Designer to run under Win10 Pro. Photo and Designer start up normally every time, but Publisher always triggers the UAC prompt. Is there a reason for this, please? And how can I stop it doing this? Quote
Staff Callum Posted December 19, 2019 Staff Posted December 19, 2019 Hi Amun, Welcome to the forums Please could you tell me what the UAC message says? Please could you tell me what level your UAC protection is sent to? You can find out how to check this here: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-change-user-account-control-uac-levels Thanks Callum Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
amun Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Hi, Callum It's the usual "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" with a Yes/No choice. UAC is set to the default. The only way to stop this dialogue box coming up is to turn UAC off completely. All the best, Ian Quote
Staff Callum Posted December 19, 2019 Staff Posted December 19, 2019 Please could you right click the shortcut and then navigate to properties this will bring up a small menu please navigate to the shortcut tab and then hit the advanced button found towards the bottom of the window. This will bring up another small menu, please could you make sure Run As Admin is unticked? C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
amun Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Yes, that seems to have sorted out the problem - many thanks I wonder why it was different, though? Both Publisher and Designer were installed within minutes of each other.... Quote
