I have looked and looked but cannot sort out why I am getting a line across the top of the first line of text in each text frame.

It is like an underline, but on top of the text, just touching the tops of the letters.

I can get around it by copying and pasting from text in a text box I used a week ago but any typing directly into a new text frame results in this line.

Please help me to get rid of this annoying line.

Have you checked the Decorations tab in the Paragraph panel?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
