They are rasterised (flattened) on import and appear as a regular pixel layer in Affinity. There may be improvements for the upcoming v1.8 though. Keep an eye on it. As it is, all my Mock-ups are unusable... this should be a MAJOR feature and make many people convert to Affinity Photo from Photoshop. Sean255 Posted February 12, 2020 Share Posted February 12, 2020 +1 for smart objects...I get thrown all kinds of files from different sources and some people are using smart objects/vector smart objects heavily...at present I have to jump back into PS/Ai...unless anyone knows a workaround??? The latest customer beta of Affinity Photo (version 1.8.0.164, for macOS) adds PSD smart object import support. I don't think this feature has been rolled out to the PC beta yet. I'm not in a position to test it myself, and I would guess it's a work in progress, but it might be worth a try... You can run the beta in parallel with your installed version, it doesn't replace it. I can’t see this option on the iPad, other than importing smart objects, I can’t see anything that can be done with them that 1.7 can’t do??? I don't know if it's been rolled out to the iPad version yet.
