My apologies if this is OT, but what is wrong when I "screenshot" something to the clipboard on my Mac, then paste it into AD only to find that the colours are off (desaturated)? I am dumbfounded and don't know where to look / what to change, as no matter what colour profile I choose for the document (currently sRGB), the pasted graphic remains pale.

Any idea?

TIA, Helmar

Hi Helmar :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

This is likely caused by the Colour Profile, either set in Affinity or through your OS. Could you please open Affinity Preferences>Colour and provide a screenshot of your settings?

Secondly, please open System Preferences>Displays>Colour and provide a screenshot of the profile in use here?

 Thanks in advance!

By default in macOS, screenshots are automatically given the same ColourSync Profile as that assigned to the screen they were taken on. That may be a factor in the colour shift you are seeing.

Hello, I have the same problem since the last Affinity Designer upgrade.

Usually I take screenshots on my Mac for fast previz and paste them directly on AD. But now they way off the original colors as you can see in the example below. Probably the previous versions accepted the color profile of these screenshots, but not anymore.

I haven't changed anything since last update.

Not sure if there is a way to fix this.

Any other Mac users having this issue? I am still in Mojave OS. Not sure if this is causing the problem.

Hi Rivera1073,

Welcome to the forums :)

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble, could you please confirm for me -

  • What colour format and profile is in use in your Affinity document?
  • Are you taking a screenshot of the downloaded file, or the image as it appears in your web browser?
  • If its the latter, what web browser are you using please?
  • Does this happen with any screenshot, taken from any source?
  • What colour settings are set for your Mac display? You can find these in System Preferences > Display.

Many thanks in advance!
