Slider sensivity for Select -> Grow / Shrink

Recommended Posts

I know that my mouse is not best piece of hardware, but probably not the hardware is to blame? Whenever I try to move the slider for Grow / Shrink I end up in too big steps, which are 7,1px steps, next 14,2px and so on. I have to type in the value manually.

Is there any solution aside from buying a new mouse? ;)

I know, that I can type in a number, but what is then the slider for? Slider means to me, dragging it to increase or decrease the value in smooth steps and not in 7,1px steps.

I am seeing the same 7.111111px steps so buying a new mouse is unlikely to cure it - more likely it is a bug?

As a workaround, you can use the up/down arrow keys to increment in 1px increments or hold SHIFT and the arrow keys for 10px increments or hold CTRL and the arrow keys for 0.1px increments

Glad it is not only me, initially thought the resolution of the optical mouse was not sufficient. Anyway, it feels like all / most sliders are not sensitive enough. Perhaps just me, because I am more the exact number type than the slider type. But I must admit that using sliders (would) have their charm, when they instantly show a change on the element when you drag.

I don't recognise the multiple's of 7.1. I get many numbers, all the way from ,3 to 1024 (maybe dependent on image dimensions). I even hit 2px at some moment but hitting that number a 2nd time appeared to be very difficult.

Maybe that a modifier key could help in being more precise.
