Steve Rawson
My feature request is for Affinity Publisher to have the ability to create form fields to be filled in ... in order to create fillable form PDF to be filled and edited in other software programs if needed. I would love to do this in order to make my patients process of filling our paper forms easier, for example to be done on an iPad. Raphie
This would be awesome, but I would add to have the ability to use JavaScript for custom business logic for order forms. If you guys can standardize a JavaScript for multiple readers would be perfect. I know this is an Utopia type of dream.
Dorset Boyo
To be able to create a fillable PDF form would be 1st class. The Java script referred to by Raphie would not necessarily suit everybody, myself included. But to be able to fully format PDF fields would be an excellent update. Annika
I would like to add my vote to be able to create fillable pdf forms in Affinity Publisher. Is there an update from Affinity Serif on this request? Thank you
charlesxix
I know its a while back people were asking but I was looking for the answer a couple of days ago. Do you remembers PagePlus? will I've just used that. I use it more than the Affinity programmes. As a side note I wish WebPlus had been updated and not ditched. Skyfarer
Adding my hat here for Fillable Form fields as a feature. Currently this is the only thing keeping me from completely abandoning the Adobe suite of products, which I loathe. Others have given great examples of professional reasons for why this is a necessary feature, but even on a mundane level, I love to create fillable sheets and PDF materials for various hobby board games and tabletop roleplaying games and this feature is a must-have for any aspiring hobby developer in these fields as well. mcandrle
With such a wonderful tool to create a catalog I had simply assumed there would be a way to put a field in the catalog, to check, that would add that item to an order form, that was the first or last page of the catalog. Go to the order form, complete the billing and shipping info and send in the form with a click on the form itself. Is this possible in Affinity Publisher? Dorset Boyo
Does anybody from Serif watch these posts as I haven't seen any reply (either positive negative or maybe) I wouldn't like to think that this was just a sounding board that went nowhere. Yes "Charlesxix" I do remember Page Plus, still use it as well as Publisher.

Yes, the Serif staff read the posts in this forum and use them for plannning purposes. As a matter of policy they generally do not comment, either favorably or unfavorably, on requests here. Sometimes they will comment to greet a new user who makes their first post or to request clarification or to point out that a function already exists. But usually only users post in this forum and discuss the requests. Peter Way
Can I take it from these coimments that at present this feature is not available currently ie fillable fields on the internet?
Dorset Boyo
Peter, as far as I can tell recent updates to Affinity Publisher DON'T include the facility for fillable PDF forms. A retrograde step I know, but you can create fillable PDF forms using Serif Page Plus, the software that Affinity Publisher replaced and should have been an improvement. I find myself reverting back to Page Plus more and more as (sadly) I find that is more versatile software than Affinity Publisher.
mad99
Hmm, I found Serif Page Plus only for windows. Any good solution/idea in similar price-range for create fillable PDF forms on MacOS?
Dorset Boyo
OK Mad99. I also use Libreoffice and the "Write" software is the equivalent to Microsoft Word. This is open source software and free and you can create fillable forms from that. There is a learning curve of course but you can do check boxes, text boxes etc. If Serif are either to slow, to react to an obvious update, can't, or won't update Publisher to do what a desk top publisher should do then there are alternatives out there. mad99
Hey @Dorset Boyo, Thank you for your hint. Do sometimes stuff with LibreOffice but never tried the FormField-Editor. Is quite nice to do basic stuff as I need for😉. Thanks for your help! Martin
Muhammed
Affinity programını uzun süre kullandıktan sonra yavaşlamaya başlıyor. Örneğin yarım saat kullanımdan sonra program oldukça yavaşlıyor. Nedenini çözemedim. Kapatıp açtıktan sonra performansı çok yüksek oluyor.

JJ Productions
Please Serif, I'm going to have to turn to adobe for indesign if you don't add this feature.
eluengo
this characteristic [fillable PDF.forms] would be.... great, fantastic, gorgeous, awesome [... as Steve said....] (no need to go into Adobe' hell, o trying to use free PDFescape web)
Grant-CB-Now
I’ve spent hours scouring the internet for an Adobe Acrobat replacement, reading dozens of reviews. From my research, many are on a quest for an all-purpose PDF tool, and they want an app based on the Affinity model—reasonable onetime price and excellent support. I hope the group prioritizing projects assigns a priority to creating an all-purpose PDF tool. It seems like a natural fit for the overall product line. seabreeze
laura-moreno
I have been waiting this feature since I got Affinity Publisher - since their release, and still waiting. I'm using pdfescape.com - an online tool to create fillable PDFs, but it's painful and time-cost - Lets me this a 2022 new feature! 💫 galindox
Teebs
is there a section for 'coming soon...'? i have been on the hunt for this feature for months! i can see there are several people looking for this feature and some of the questions go back a few years. is it something they are considering/developing? It’s so frustrating when there are no updates or developer comments. galindox
Komatös
@Teebs No, there is no such section. Serif only communicates new functions when they have been included in an update. MandyYeo
I am adding to this thread. I too would love to see a fillable form available in Affinity. I love the Affinity products and use for everything, but now I have this stumbling block :(
Komatös
Does Adobe or any other software house, long before a release, communicate in any way what features they will be adding? The answer is NO. And there are many reasons why they don't. One of them is that some features take more development time than expected. The answer is NO. And there are many reasons why they don't. Because Affinity applications are at a "folk" price, some users also assume a "folk" way of their development - that is, that developers will inform users of all their steps and decisions, immediately fulfill all wishes and suggestions, they will be held accountable for not meeting promised deadlines and plans, etc. Interestingly, at other companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, users would not even think that someone would discuss the development process with them, but here they are surprised and frustrated.
