Hi I’m trying to print out an image which has been put together with various elements and text tool. I’ve done lots of others in this way but for some reason this particular one keeps printing out with a line through the same 2 words despite it not appearing on the screen....HELP PLEASE!!

Just printed this on a (HP OfficeJet Pro 8620) and no lines show, check all the settings in your printer software.

Also try aligning the print heads from the printer software.

I have a stone-old Kyocera and get lines as well. First thought was, that font is to blame, but even after converting the text to curves the line (only on the left name) was still there. So there must be something else.

Wonder if moving the brollies and then printing might yield something as they are the only thing that are interacting with the text?

Just spoke to Canon and they got me to export the image then print from preview and it printed fine so they're saying its not the printer. It just happens when I print from Affinity on that one image and from that printer >:(

Seems to be that transparency and text frame are somehow colliding. When I remove the umbrella there is no line in the name.

Small workaround for you: Create a white rectangle and move it under the name. Then everything should print fine.

But this is no final solution.

I never had the second line on Dada. How about increasing the white box down to the bottom of the page? Arggl, stupid workarounds ... :(

I have not original font Great Vibes, but:
both umbrellas are rotated images ("image" layer).

After their rasterization, which must certainly be done when printing to a printer (to pdf is exported as a picture apparently),
he rotated images become unrotated ("Pixel" layer),

and their edge passes through the text exactly where the unwanted line is created during printing.

This could be an indication of some bug in ADe.

Sorry to drag this thread back up from the dead but I have had this experience quite a lot and it's extremely frustrating, I have wasted so many nice bits of glossy card etc., it's genuinely getting quite expensive because you never know when it'll strike! (It is consistent with the same documents if re-tried though.)

I too have a Canon printer (iP8700 series), but I do not see this issue with anything other than Affinity.

Like the original poster above, I see lines appearing at the outer edges (crop boundary) of certain images when printed, which are not present on the design.

The only fix I have found is exporting the file as a PDF (uncompressed so I don't lose quality) and printing from that. Again, this appears to confirm that the problem is with Affinity's printing process itself, since I'm literally printing the same text and graphics to the same printer but from a PDF and they then come out fine.

Is there a way to formally raise this as a bug that needs resolving or is this forum that place?

Thanks very much,
Paul

It would be a good idea to then insert a link to this thread so that the context is not lost.
