Louise Olson Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I opened each of my new applications and input the information from my order invoice including email address and product keys for each application. They then tell me that they don't recognize my password and the process stops. In the open app, I cannot find information from the menu where I would see whether my copy is registered or not. Other similar applications I have show my name and something that indicates that the app is registered to me. What am I missing and how can I go about finding what I need. It asked me for my account information and I chose new and they said an account already existed for that email address. So I looked up my password item and sure enough I had one, but when I entered it, the program told me that the password did not match that name. So I asked to create a new account and that apparently created an account for the Forums with that password. Now I can't see what to do next. Can someone please contact me and help me make sure that my apps are not just demo versions? I was trying to add one of the extras provided with Publisher (I think that's the right one). Sorry for such a long "note" ... but I'm at a total loss right now and I would love to get these things up and running legitimately and with the extras provided, etc. Louise Quote
Old Bruce Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I assume you bought from the Affinity site, but for which Operating System? Edit to add, that is not a long note. More information is better than a terse "It won't work!" walt.farrell Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Louise. From what I remember, the applications purchased from the Serif Affinity Store do not ask for a password. They ask for an email and a product key. So I'm puzzled that you're saying the application wants the password. The Store would want it when you login, of course. And it sounds like that may be where your issue is. In any case, if the application was not properly registered I think it would run in trial mode, and would tell you that when you start it. So if it's not saying that it's in trial mode you got it registered. Your best bet to get a password issue with the Store resolved is to email affinity@serif.com, I think. Louise Olson Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 Thanks to Old Bruce and walt.farrell for their kind replies. As usual, I found that continuing to try things finally resulted in 'success". Apparently, my applications are all nicely registered and are working as would be expected. The password request came up in regard to one of the "add-ons" that are included. As I later discovered, I had made a note after setting my account when I bought and downloaded the programs that reminded me that there had been a discrepancy between the password I set up and what a "see this password" showed me. Unfortunately, I did not remember making that note. I'm sure that was the problem, but I ended up resetting the password and also joining this forum. So far, I'm impressed with these applications, and seriously hoping they will prove to be a reasonable alternative to some Adobe apps. Quote

I too have been bit by that sort of discrepancy. Glad to hear that you have it sorted.
