Staff TonyB Posted June 23, 2014 Staff Share Posted June 23, 2014 Not in Designer. Affinity Photo will have lens flares at some point though.
00Ghz
but please don’t put those crappy PS/AI ones. Maybe something like VideoCopilot Lens flares? :D Quote UI Designer, CG Artist Macbook Pro 15" 2014 2.5 Ghz, 750M https://www.behance.net/VladMafteiuScai

ChuckO
Hi MEB :) Any news on adding a flare tool - and if not, any ideas for other ways to do it?
My1
May I ask why this wont be a thing in affinity? I mean is it bad to design something with a nice lens flare? especially with the designer being a vector software that's nice to use it's even more awesome because you can scale and render it at any resolution you like, and even better with the export persona (which I began to use mroe recently). Staff MEB Posted May 15, 2017 Staff Share Posted May 15, 2017 Hi My1, I believe this will be added as a Filter to Affinity Photo (and will eventually be raster based). You will be able to use it anyway in Designer (if you own both) switching the document to Affinity Photo to adding the filter there. My1
too bad that this would be raster based, a vector based lensflare in designer would be pure awesome. because aith a raster based lensflare and importing it into designer I can also use Gimp (which I've use a long time, so I know my ways there, although there's it's called the Gradient Flare.). John Rostron
Are we talking here about a tool to remove or reduce lens flare in a photo, or a tool to add lens flare to a photo (or design). MCFC_4Heatons
It needs a lens flare effect .... I just tested the last vesion of Light Knoll Factory (v3.2) which still works in Photoshop CC 2019, it doesn't work in Affinity Photo unfortuntely, the only other PS plugin I know off that includes lens fare effects is Digital Fiml Tools, sadly that doesnlt seem to work in Affinity Photo either :(

MCFC_4Heatons
.... anyway while playing around with Photo BETA i tried a plugin I have by MediaChance Plugin Bridge - a wrapper so you can run 32bit plugins inside 64 bit version of Photoshop.... It seems to work well & I was able to use a 32bit version of Knoll Light Factory with it inside Affinity Photo. Question????? ...... Can third party plugin effects be non destructive? I know Photo has the live/non destructuive built-in effects but any way to make 3rd party plugins non destructive like smart objects in Photoshop? firstdefence
You could try making an overlay by creating a fill layer with black and applying the filter to that.
