523 crashing on create new doc

Recommended Posts

Crash alert.

I'm trying to create a new document and this BETA is crashing. I'm on a Mac/Sierra.

Tried twice to create a document, then press OK/create. Screen remains fixed, spinning wheel goes on for a minute or two, and then the app crashes.

In other words, no open document. Not sure if this is using a separate pref. file in library or what. But, it's not working as expected.

Mind you, I was experiencing crashes with 1.73 yesterday, too. Not sure what's up. Willing to take the blame if no one else notices this.

Suggest providing a crash log to help the developers figure out where it is crashing...  preferably as an attachment rather than as text pasted into the forum...

I'm working in 1.73 for now so I can make some headway. Will attempt later to use BETA. It was pretty consistent/repeatable, so I imagine someone else may run into it.

Update on my situation. I just started up BETA 523 for the first time since I created this post to report the crashes.

Well, now creating a new document seems to be working.

Nothing has change in my approach. I've been using 1.73 all day—do they share the same application support folder or preferences? If so, maybe that had an affect. Otherwise, it's a mystery why it crashed before.

Happy ending. :)
