Sephen Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 One thing that is really frustrating is selecting objects, Apparently it's not possible to select objects simply by clicking on them. Every time i have to locate the object in the layer panel and click on it there? Is this a bug? Thanks! Quote
Hokusai Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Sephan, I'm not sure if this is what is causing you problems but there is a little icon on the bottom left side of the Layers palette and if it isn't selected, you can't select things that are on different layers until you first change to that layer. Give that a try and see if it helps. Hokusai Quote
VectorMax Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Hello Stephen, If the layers are not locked, the selection tools act ... normally :)However, see in the preferences:- User interface: check "Show selection in the layer pane";- Tools: tick "Select the object if it intersects the selection frame" (otherwise you have to surround everything the object you want, and it is not always easy).Good discovery ! Chris Hawkins Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) Can you clarify if this is my issue, sorry couldn't understand completely - what I want to do is select the individual layers that are Sublayers to a layer. Right now, I can't select those sublayers without selecting my command key and clicking. Are you saying there is a specific preference or way in the layers area itself, to change something to allow that? Right now the main layer is selected/checked, and all the sublayers are selected/checked, but I can't individually pick one out without that shortcut. SORRY update - just discovered it's a grouping thing - when I brought a PSD in, it grouped automatically all my layers I guess! And the individual ones were underneath. So if I right click on the main layer and "ungroup" it worked. However, would be nice to still have a layer and sublayers underneath, and still be able to click them individually without it being grouped. Is that possible?
