Drag and Drop Text in textbox Master A

Why can't I drag and drop text in a textbox related to a "Master page" ? 

I tried and tried, and find out, Its only possible when not related to a Master page.

Do I something wrong, or is it really a problem from Affinity Publisher

Interesting problem, I just tried this with a .txt file and it worked but didn't work. I started with a one page document and it is a facing page document. When I dragged my text file into the text frame on page one (the text frame is from the Master Page) the text started on page zero and flowed into page one. Perhaps you have a smaller amount of text and so you don't see the page zero with the text.

Regardless this is a bug.

For what it's worth, that scenario works just fine on Windows.

Hi thanx for your reply, this is my problem, 

 

for bookdesign I work with large amounts of text

and in many cases something need to be changed in the text itself.

So when I for instance select one of more words in a full textbox : 

dragging and dropping the selection to an other position in the text

isnt' possible if the textbox is related to a masterpage.

Thanks for clarifying that, Gamtak.

I've only tested that in the 1.8.0.518 beta on Windows, but your scenario does not work there for me, either. Dragging text from one spot to another inside a Text Frame fails if the frame is derived  from a Master Page.

If you right-click the Master Page layer in the Layers Panel and select Edit Detached it will then work

More than likely.

Especially so, since the History Panel records the text moving even when it does not.

Hi, evrybody

I know that when I detach the masterpage, drag and drop text inside a textbox wil work.

I tried it but than I lost all my ‘textstyles’

Did you use the method that Carl suggested above? That would not (or should not) affect text styles on the page.
