Nieck Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Can anyone please explain where I can change the settings of px to mm in for instance the Text Frame, without doing it manual each time. Thanks! Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 10, 2019 Staff Posted December 10, 2019 Hi Niek, If you set the document units to millimetres (File > Document Setup) all dialogs/panels etc will display in that unit (except lines/strokes which have a dedicated setting in preferences to force the display in points. It would be nice if we could set the value and unit in the Text Frame input fields directly as we can in the Transform panel. I will pass this to the dev team. I'm still checking this. It doesn't work on macOS. Are you running Windows? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Staff MEB Posted December 10, 2019 Staff Posted December 10, 2019 Hi GarryP, It is indeed limited to the macOS version. Works as expected on Windows. I'm logging this. Thanks. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Staff Patrick Connor Posted December 13, 2019 Staff Posted December 13, 2019 We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Text Frame panel - Insets section: input fields don't accept other units other than the one specified in document units [mac]) of the program in the latest Affinity Publisher beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. Once Affinity Publisher has been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update to all customers. Joachim_L Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 There is another fancy way to change the units I discovered recently. 1. Create document with px as units. 2. Switch to the Zoom tool 3. Change in the context toolbar from px to mm 4. Document units are changed px to mm Just another way Cuando 1 Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
Staff MEB Posted December 13, 2019 Staff Posted December 13, 2019 Joachim_L, If you have the rulers displayed in your document you can also right-click the origin of the rulers (top left where the unit is displayed) and select the unit you want. Joachim_L Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Unbelievable, there are so many ways. I just love the whole Affinity range. A better table handling, replacing colours, a Form panel added and you'll never a complaint from me again.
